Has anyone reading this post ever actually heard opportunity knock? I know that I have taken advantage of many opportunities, but none have ever knocked.
The reason opportunity doesn’t knock is because it is already in. Opportunity isn’t on the outside knocking to enter, opportunity resides inside each of us. Opportunity isn’t a stand alone thing, it is every fiber of your being. From your skills to your personality. It consists of every decision you have made for years and new opportunities will become apparent to you based on decisions you make today and all tomorrows to come.
How you react and how everyone reacts to you. What you say, what you do, what you see, what you learn, and what you are all make up your opportunities.
If opportunities are inside us then why don’t we all take advantage of more of them? The reason we don’t is because we are sitting back waiting to hear the knock. That’s right, we passively wait for an opportunity instead of reaching down deep inside to create an opportunity for ourselves.
It is a shame that some of us will waste the best part of our lives waiting for something that will never come. It is like waiting to win the lottery without buying any tickets.
Next time you hear something knocking, say who’s there, because thinking it is opportunity is a real joke!
The only real opportunity is the one that we create and take advantage of from deep within.
